Alan - We cannot publish your book at this point. We found too much resemblance between your book and Mysteries According to Humphrey. They include: missing Mrs. Brisbane, the substitute teacher, Og the Frog, and more. We need to read the original book by Betty G. Birney to determine if your book is eligible for publishing.

Alan - Open the template go to button on the top left corner that says File then click Make a Copy. A copy of the file will be save under your google account.

Alan - Your parents need to proofread first as I said clearly in an earlier message. Then someone else from Sparky will review and see if it's qualified for publishing. It's the new rule and we all need to follow it.

Alan - Your book needs to be proofread and reviewed by your parents and sparky editors. The new process will not publish any books right away as they may not meet the publishing criteria. Can you also change your email to a non-school email so that we can reply to you.

Guys - Moving forward we require that you hand-draw the cover and illustrations for your books. Using other people's artwork is strictly prohibited. We are also putting together rules for other clubs including debate, crafts and sports. Stay tuned.

Olivia & Alan - It's great that you tried to publish books on Sparky. But please make sure that your parents proof-read your works before publishing. I will take them off from the website because: 1. Olivia's book is not complete, not formatted correctly and uses other people's pictures; 2. Alan's book doesn't use the correct publishing format at all. Please revise and re-submit. Hannah will be your editor and will decide if your books meet all the requirements for publishing.

Olivia - Can you edit or replace your pictures for all your posts. Some of them are missing and some show fingers holding the picture. Please refer to Hannah's advice below to improve. You can also use Sketchpad to draw online, save and upload to Sparky.

Olivia - Please make sure your debate pictures are not blurry. To make it easier, you can put the drawing on the table and take the photo, or ask your mom to scan it to the computer for you. Also try to make your pictures more visible by tracing them or adding colors.

Since you need to send us a pdf, we can't edit it. You can update the first draft of your book (the first draft should be in Google Docs), and save another pdf. Then you'll have to replace the whole thing. Plus, we are planning a workshop to tell everyone how to make an online book.

If you accidentally close the table of contents, go to the bottom middle of the page and click the three horizontal lines with dots next to them. It will reopen the table of contents.

Hey everyone! We are working on a writing tab where you can publish your stories to Sparky! Be creative and feel free to ask any questions or report any problems about the Writing Tab. Also feel free to tell us any ideas you have for the website and we may be able to have your idea created. I'm also thinking about making a park or playground where our avatars can view online people and play around. Additionally, there will be a dress up game where you can edit your animal avatars and have more fun. Check in every day (or week if you prefer) to see new updates and projects we're working on.

Hi Olivia - Yes you can edit your crafts. Make sure that your image name is one word. Your previous image was "mini lay.jpg". I changed it to "mini_lay.jpg" and the problem was solved.
